Description: This is the perfect home for a musician, artist, writer, or that busy executive for weekend getaways.
This beautiful home is situated on 13.69 surveyed, wooded, secluded acres in Anderson County, Tennessee, 9 miles off I-75 Exit 122, about 20 miles north of downtown Knoxville. The 775' driveway puts the home well off the sleepy 2-lane country road. The property includes 575' of road frontage. The house sits about 50' above the road offering complete privacy year-round.
The wooded property offers excellent development potential and is a 5-minute drive from several boat landings on nearby Norris Lake (one of the cleanest recreational lakes in Tennessee). The land is also located very close to Big Ridge State Park, the historic City of Norris, the Norris Dam State Park, and the Museum of Appalachia. The area is growing rapidly and offers excellent growth potential. New development in the area includes a mega-WalMart under construction at the interstate, and condos selling for close to $1million, within a 5-minute drive. Downtown Knoxville is a 30-minute drive. Nearby Norris Lake is well-known for its recreation, fishing and camping and is also one of the largest lakes in the state.
The 1707sq.ft. custom house is my home where I currently reside. I built this wood-frame home between 1991 and 2001, which was built over-code and includes hurricane ties, reinforced cross-bracing in all joists and rafters, and other hidden construction features. I have all documentation for this house since its inception, including all floor plans, permits, etc. The outside is rustic, hand-made lap poplar siding, with a durable blue steel roof. The modern floor plan includes 6" exterior walls for added insulation, a 6' x 12' sunken entry with 1" slab marble floor, an 18 x 24 great room/kitchen with open vaulted 13' ceiling, cantilevered bay breakfast nook, and a free-standing Harmon wood stove on marble slab for very pleasant, even heat, and red oak floors. The first floor includes a guest bedroom and attached shared bathroom, laundry room, and an open vaulted ceiling stairwell. All wet areas have 12" marble flooring.
The upstairs features an open floor plan for the master bedroom with oak floors, 4' and 3' wide arched open doorways, private bath with a 2-person whirlpool tub, 2-person fully cedar-lined walk-in closet, all with 12" marble floors, and a 2nd floor 12 x 16 outside wood deck. A one-car attached garage includes reinforced concrete slab. The water is fed from a 430' deep well with about 60gpm flow, and is filtered with a whole-house system, and treated with a whole-house water softening system, both by Culligan. The water is as good and tasty as any bottled water out there. The house has a septic system and drain field. Wiring from the service pole to the house is underground. The house has a 3' crawl space which is lighted and graveled, and is neat, clean, and very accessible.
The home was completed in 2002 when the final inspection was approved by the Anderson County Zoning Office. The home is about 95% complete, and the upstairs is 100% complete. The planned front porch and side sun room are not built. However, the house is fully functional, totally serene and comfortable, and I have lived and worked from home for many years as I have continued to finish the details of the home, which I also designed.
Also included is a separate, 12 x 16 office which is completely insulated, underground wired for phone and electricity. Cable or DSL internet is not yet available in this area, so the WildBlue Satellite Internet will remain with the office.
Any interested persons should call or email me for more information and to schedule a private showing.
